Nortel Networks Limited (NNL) is Nortel�s principal direct operating subsidiary. As of December 31, 2011, Nortel has completed the sales of all of its businesses. On July 29, 2011, the Company sold its patents and patent applications to a consortium consisting of Apple Inc, EMC, Ericsson, Microsoft, Research In Motion and Sony. This sale included more than 6,000 patents and patent applications spanning wireless, wireless 4G, data networking, optical, voice, Internet, service provider, semiconductors and other patent portfolios.
