(Porta) is engaged in designing, manufacturing and marketing systems for the connection, protection, testing and administration of public and private telecommunications lines and networks and products that provide network infrastructure that connects remote terminals used in military data transmission applications. Its core products, focused on ensuring communications for service providers worldwide, fall principally into two categories: Voice and Data Connection and Protection Equipment, and Signal Processing Equipment. The Company has two reportable segments: line connection and protection equipment (Line) whose products interconnect copper telephone lines to switching equipment and provides fuse elements that protect telephone equipment and personnel from electrical surges; and signal processing (Signal) whose products are used in data communication devices that employ high frequency transformer technology.
