Phoenix Technologies Ltd. designs, develops and supports core system software for personal computers and other computing devices. The Company’s product supports and enables the compatibility, connectivity, security, and manageability of the various components and technologies used in such devices. It sells these products primarily to computer and component device manufacturers. The Company also provides training, consulting, maintenance and engineering services to its customers. The majority of the Company’s revenue comes from Core System Software (CSS), a form of Basic Input-Output System (BIOS), for personal computers (PCs), servers and embedded devices. On July 1, 2008, the Company completed its acquisition of TouchStone Software Corporation (TouchStone). In August 2008, the Company acquired General Software, Inc., provider of embedded firmware.
