Verso Corporation, formerly Verso Paper Corp., is a holding company. The Company is engaged in the supply of coated papers to catalog and magazine publishers. The coated paper is used primarily in media and marketing applications, including catalogs, magazines and commercial printing applications, such as advertising brochures, annual reports, and direct mail advertising. The company also produces and sells market kraft pulp, which is used to manufacture printing and writing paper grades and tissue products. The Company operates around five paper machines at two mills located in Maine and Michigan. The Company operates in three segments: coated papers, including coated groundwood and coated freesheet; hardwood market pulp, and other, consisting of specialty papers. It manufactures two main grades of paper: coated groundwood paper and coated freesheet paper. It also offers ultra-lightweight uncoated printing papers, and ultra-lightweight coated and uncoated flexible packaging papers.
