RBS Sempra Commodities trades industrial and environmental commodities all over the world. It consists of three companies -- Sempra Energy Trading, RBS Sempra Metals, and Sempra Energy Solutions -- which serve customers in industries such as natural gas, power, petroleum and coal industries. RBS Sempra Commodities also handles the commodity-marketing business for natural gas group Sempra Energy's US operations. The company has trading, marketing, and risk management operations in North America, Europe, and Asia. RBS Sempra Commodities formed in 2008 as a joint venture between Sempra Energy and The Royal Bank of Scotland's (RBS) Global Banking & Markets division.
