RONA inc. (RONA), is a retailer and distributor of home improvement, hardware and gardening products in Canada. During the fiscal year ended December 28, 2008 (fiscal 2008), the Company had 700 corporate, franchised and affiliated stores, as well as nine hardware and building materials distribution centres. RONA operates in three business segments: the retail sector, which includes RONA’s corporate and franchise stores, the support and development of the RONA affiliate network, and the commercial and professional sector. In April 2009, RONA announced the acquisition of Bishop's Building Center Ltd. The acquired company will be integrated within the network of eight stores belonging to the Chester Dawe banner in Newfoundland.
