Robert Morris University is a private, four-year institution located in suburban Pittsburgh. It offers more than 30 undergraduate degree programs and nearly 20 master's and doctoral degree programs, as well as adult and continuing education programs. The school has an enrollment of more than 5,000 students. Named for a Pennsylvanian patriot who helped finance the Revolutionary War and signed the Declaration of Independence, Robert Morris University was founded in 1921. Formerly Robert Morris College, the institution gained university status in 2002.
