Ripley Corp SA is a Chile-based company engaged in the retail sector. The Company’s main line of business is retail sale of clothing, accessories, and home furnishings through different department store formats. It is present in Chile and Peru and operates 49 stores, such as Parque Arauco, Plaza Vespucio, Ripley Jockey Plaza and Ripley San Isidro. The Company also participates in the financial business through direct credit to its customers with the Ripley card, and its unit Banco Ripley, which offers consumption credit and MasterCard. In addition, Ripley Corp SA operates malls and other businesses associated to retail, such as insurance brokerage. The Company’s main subsidiaries are Ripley Financiero Ltda, Ripley Chile SA and Ripley Internacional SA. As of December 31, 2008, the majority shareholder of the Company is Inversiones R Limitada y Compania Comandita por Acciones, which holds a 59.03% stake.
