Global Energy Development PLC is a petroleum exploration and production company focused on Latin America. The principal activity of the Company is to act as a holding company for the subsidiary companies engaged in oil and gas exploration, development and production activities. The Company is also engaged in the sale of hydrocarbons and related activities. As of April 20, 2009, the Company held seven contracts in the countries of Colombia, Peru and Panama. The Company's portfolio of contracts comprises a base of production, development drilling and workover opportunities and several high-potential exploration projects. Gross production during the year ended December 31, 2008, was 504,636 barrels of oil (bbls), with production net to the Company of 438,007 bbls. The Cajaro 1 and Estero 5 wells within the Alcaravan contract area were shut-in during February 2009.
