Description

Span-America Medical Systems, Inc. (Span-America) manufactures and distributes a variety of polyurethane and other foam products for the medical, consumer and industrial markets. The Company’s products are distributed in the United States and in several foreign countries. Span-America’s operations are divided into two primary business segments: medical and custom products. The medical segment manufactures and markets a selection of pressure management products, including Geo-Matt, PressureGuard, Geo-Mattress, Span-Aids, Isch-Dish and Selan products. In the custom products segment, it manufactures consumer mattress pads and pillows for the retail bedding market and various engineered foam products for the industrial market. In October 2007, the Company exit the safety catheter business.
