Sunoco Logistics Partners L.P. (the Partnership) is engaged in the transport, terminalling and storage of refined products and crude oil and the purchase and sale of crude oil in 13 states located in the northeast, midwest and southwest United States. The Company operates in three business segments: Eastern Pipeline System, Terminal Facilities and Western Pipeline System. During the year ended December 31, 2008, Sunoco, Inc. and Sunoco, Inc. (R&M) collectively referred to as Sunoco, own approximately 43.3% of the partnership interests. The Eastern Pipeline System serves the northeast and midwest United States operations of Sunoco and includes approximately 1,650 miles of refined product pipelines. The Terminal Facilities consist of 36 refined product terminals with an aggregate storage capacity of 6.2 million shell barrels serving the Eastern Pipeline System in the northeast and midwest United States. In September 2009, the Company acquired Excel Pipeline LLC.
