Don't expect a croissant with coffee: Sara Lee is splitting up its International Beverage and Bakery business. Lackluster results spurred the parent in 2011 toward spinning off the international beverage arm into a new, public company (referred to as CoffeeCo). Beverage brands, including Pickwick and Maison du Cafe (coffee and tea products) are sold to retail and foodservice customers across Europe, Brazil, Australia, and Asia. Sara Lee has curbed its sweet tooth, too: Bimbo is buying the fresh bakery businesses in Spain and Portugal; the French dough business is up for sale; and the Australian frozen desserts business on ice, as Sara Lee weighs its options. Bakery brands are Ortiz, Bon Gateaux, and Bimbo.
