No need to fear Shopzilla. It's not a monster, but a shopping search engine that lists more than 30 million products from some 92,000 retailers offering clothes, electronics, and other consumer items. Shopzilla earns money from referrals that occur when consumers using the Shopzilla site click through to participating online retailers. Founded in 1996 by company executives Farhad Mohit and Henri Asseily, and David Reibstein, former vice dean of the Wharton School, the firm operated as BizRate.com before assuming the "Shopzilla" moniker in 2004. Shopzilla is a subsidiary of Scripps Network Interactive.
