SolarWorld AG is a Germany-based company, operating in the photovoltaic sector. As of 2008, the Company divides its operation into four business segments: wafer production and sale, manufacturing of silicon solar wafers from raw and recycled material; cell production, manufacturing of silicon-based solar cells for use in solar power modules; module production, manufacturing of solar modules, and trade, engaged in the international distribution of SolarWorld modules and complete systems. The Company operates through subsidiaries in Germany, Spain, Asia, Africa and the United States that include SolarWorld Innovations GmbH, Sunicon AG, Deutsche Solar AG, Deutsche Cell GmbH and Solar Factory GmbH, among others.
