Southwestern Energy Company is an independent energy company engaged in natural gas and oil exploration, development and production (E&P). The Company is focused on creating and capturing additional value through its natural gas gathering and marketing businesses, which it refers to as Midstream Services. The Company operates in two segments E&P, which has operations focused within the United States on the development of two unconventional natural gas reservoirs located in Arkansas and Pennsylvania, and Midstream Services, which includes natural gas gathering activities in Arkansas, Texas and Pennsylvania. The Company also owns approximately 413,000 net acres in West Virginia and southwest Pennsylvania targeting natural gas, natural gas liquids and crude oil contained in the Upper Devonian, Marcellus and Utica shales.
