It's no BS, BHS is here to help. The Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security (BHS) is the state's civilian emergency management department. Part of the Office of the Governor's Military Division, the agency is run by the Adjutant General. It coordinates federal, state, and local response to and recovery from natural and man-made disasters. BHS develops disaster plans across intergovernmental groups, helps those groups design and run training and public information programs, arranges for the use of private facilities, and manages statewide search and rescue units by providing training and equipment. The Bureau, which also oversees the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service, has an annual budget of about $24 million.
