Cardenas Markets brings Mexico and Central and South America to Southern California and Nevada. Establishing its first supermarket in 1979, the regional grocer serves California's and Nevada's Hispanic population through a chain of nearly 30 grocery stores. The company specializes in sourcing and selling a wide variety of products from south of the border. Each store, which operates under the Cardenas Markets banner, offers customers meat and seafood, fruits and vegetables, baked breads and cakes, juices, and even tortillas from its in-store tortillerias. They also provide services such as bus passes, money orders, phone cards, check cashing, and money transfers.
