Triad Guaranty Inc. is a holding company. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Triad Guaranty Insurance Corporation (Triad), the Company provided private mortgage insurance coverage in the United States. Triad ceased issuing new commitments for mortgage guaranty insurance coverage on July 15, 2008, and is operating the business in run-off. Triad no longer writes new mortgage insurance policies but continues to service the existing policies. Servicing existing policies includes receiving premiums on policies that remain in force; cancelling coverage at the insured’s request; terminating policies for non-payment of premium; working with borrowers in default to remedy the default and/or mitigate the Company’s loss, and settling all legitimate filed claims per the Company’s contractual obligations. Prior to the commencement of run-off on July 15, 2008, the Company offered principally two products, Primary and Modified Pool mortgage insurance.
