Teekay LNG Partners L.P. is an international provider of marine transportation services for liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and crude oil. Teekay LNG Partners L.P. provides marine transportation services under long term, fixed rate time charter contracts with energy and utility companies through its fleet of 15 LNG carriers, six LPG carriers and eight Suezmax class crude oil tankers. As of May 1, 2009, its fleet of existing LNG carriers had approximately 2.4 million cubic meters of total capacity. The Company generates revenues by charging customers for the transportation of their LNG, LPG and crude oil using its vessels. The Company operates in two segments: Liquefied Gas Segment and Suezmax Tanker Segment. On July 28, 2008, Teekay Corporation purchased two 12,000 cubic meter newbuilding Multigas ships from Skaugen subsidiaries.
