Tanzanian Royalty Exploration Corporation is a mineral resource company. The Company's general area of interest has been in the exploration of gold properties, with a primary focus on exploring for gold properties in Tanzania. In January 2009, the Company acquired 21 Mwadui Project area diamond prospecting licenses and applications located in the Lake Victoria Greenstone Belt of Tanzania. On February 25, 2009, the Company entered into an agreement with Songshan, where Songshan acquired 26 Kabanga nickel licenses and applications located in northwestern Tanzania. Its subsidiaries include Tancan Mining Company Limited, Tanzania American International Development Corporation, Itetemia Mining Company Limited and Lunguya Mining Company Ltd.
