Silver Standard Resources Inc. is a development stage company which is focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of silver projects. The Company has a portfolio of silver-projects, which are located in seven countries in the Americas and Australia. The Company is focused on advancing five principal project, the Pirquitas project, the San Luis project, the Pitarrilla project, the Diablillos project and the Snowfield project, to commercial production. As of December 31, 2008, the Company is completing the construction of its Pirquitas property located in the province of Jujuy in northwest Argentina. In July 2008, the Company closed the sale of the Shafter Silver project in Presidion County, Texas to Aurcana Corporation (Aurcana).
