Fortis regulated holdings include electric utilities in five Canadian provinces and two Caribbean countries and a natural gas utility in British Columbia, Canada. Fortis owns non-regulated generation assets, primarily hydroelectric, across Canada and in Belize and Upper New York State, and hotels and commercial office and retail space in Canada. Its operating segments include Regulated Gas Utilities - Canadian; Regulated Electric Utilities - Canadian; Regulated Electric Utilities - Caribbean; Non-Regulated - Fortis Generation; Non-Regulated - Fortis Properties, and Corporate and Other. As of December 31, 2011, its non-regulated generation assets had a combined generating capacity of 139 mega-watts. As of December 31, 2011, Fortis Properties owned and operated 22 hotels. In October 2011, the Company acquired Hilton Suites Winnipeg Airport hotel.
