Response Biomedical Corp. is engaged in the research, development, commercialization and distribution of diagnostic technologies for the medical point-of-care (POC) and onsite environmental testing markets. RAMP is the Company's core technology. The Company uses this technology for the commercialization of highly sensitive diagnostic tests in a portable format. This format comprises a fluorescence Reader common to all tests, and single-use, disposable test cartridges that contain an analyte specific, lateral flow immunoassay. Each Cartridge incorporates an internal calibrator. The Company's kits are produced in-house and its Readers are manufactured and supplied under contract. In June 2008, the Company granted Roche Diagnostics (Roche) the rights to market its line of cardiovascular POC tests worldwide. The RAMP cardiovascular product line includes Troponin I, CK-MB, Myoglobin and NT-proBNP.
