Scorpio Mining Corporation is engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties. The Company is primarily focused on the development of its 100%-owned Nuestra Senora project located in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, a silver-zinc-copper-lead project, which has been in the development and pre-production stage. The Company also has interests, through its 93%-owned subsidiary, Scorpio Gold, in three other gold exploration properties, Cochrane Hill and Caribou in Nova Scotia and Lac Arseneault in Gaspe, Quebec. The Company's Nuestra Senora property comprises five mineral exploitation claims (El Angel Tercero, Anexas del Angel , Anexas al Predio, Ampliacion El Mistral and Zaida) cover an area of 1,895 hectares while the mineral exploration claims that surround them comprise six claims (La Seca Fracc. 1, La Seca Fracc. 2, La Seca 2 Fracc. 1, La Seca 2 Fracc. 2 and La Seca 3) covering an area of 13,559 hectares for a total of 15,455 hectares.
