Description
West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. is a Canada-based wood products company. The Company produces lumber, wood chips, laminated veneer lumber (LVL), medium-density fibreboard (MDF), plywood, pulp and newsprint. It has operations in western Canada and the southern United States. The Company�s segments include lumber segment, pulp and paper segment and panels segment. The pulp and paper segment consists of northern bleached softwood kraft pulp (NBSK), bleached chemithermomechanical pulp (BCTMP) and newsprint businesses. The panels segment consists of plywood, MDF and LVL operations. During the year ended December 31, 2011, the Company produced 3,408 million board feet spruce-pine-fir (SPF) and 1,503 million board feet southern yellow pine (SYP) of lumber. The Company�s subsidiaries include West Fraser Mills Ltd., West Fraser, Inc., Blue Ridge Lumber Inc., Sundre Forest Products Inc. and West Fraser Newsprint Ltd.
