Telecomunicacoes de Sao Paulo SA - Telesp (Telesp) provides fixed-line telecommunications services in the State of Sao Paulo. The Company provides international and interregional long distance services. It also provides multimedia communication services, such as audio, video, data, voice and other sounds, images, texts, and other information. As of December 31, 2008, its telephone network included 11.7 million fixed lines in service, 2.5 million broadband clients and 0.5 million pay television clients. Of the access lines in service, approximately 73% were residential, 22% were commercial, 2% were public telephone lines and 3% were for the Company’s own use and testing.
