Description
Japan Drilling Co., Ltd. is engaged in the offshore drilling and engineering businesses in relation to oil and natural gas exploration and development. The Company operates its business through three business segments. The Offshore Drilling segment operates drilling rigs and provides offshore drilling and other related services regarding oil and natural gas exploration and development in domestic and overseas markets. The Operation and Management segment is engaged in the management and operation of the riser drilling vessel named CHIKYU, which is owned by Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC). The Others segment is engaged in the drilling for pipe lines laying of oil and gas pipeline, power cables, communication cables and water and sewerage, the contracted research and engineering services for methane hydrate development, and the sale and export of machinery and materials related to exploration and development of oil, gas and other underground resources.
