SEIKO EPSON CORPORATION is primarily involved in the manufacture of various equipments. The Information Equipment segment manufactures and offers printers, such as inkjet printers, page printers and dot matrix printers, among others; visual products, such as liquid-crystal projectors and high temperature poly-silicon thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal panels for liquid-crystal projectors, personal computers (PCs). The Electronic Devices and Precision Equipment segment is engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of crystal devices including crystal oscillators and crystal sensors, semiconductors, watches, watch movements and plastic lens under the brand name SEIKO, factory automation (FA) equipment, such as horizontal articulated robots. The Others segment is engaged in the insurance agency and other businesses. On April 1, 2012, it took over the crystal device businesses from Epson Toyocom Corporation. On February 1, 2013, it sold optics business to HOYA CORPORATION.
