Something's "supposed" to be fishy at Trident Seafoods. The vertically integrated seafood business hauls in salmon, crab, and assorted other fin- and shellfish from the icy waters of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. It then processes and cans or freezes them for retail food and foodservice customers. Trident operates a fleet of some 30 processing boats and trawlers, as well as about 20 onshore processing plants in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. The company's portfolio includes Trident, Louis Kemp, and SeaLegs brand of surimi (crab-flavored processed fish). Trident owns Port Chatham Smoked Seafood, which smokes salmon and tuna under the Portlock label. The company operates a single retail store in Seattle.
