Friendship, solidarity, and fair play are the watch words for this sports organization. United States Olympic Committee (USOC) is the governing body of the Olympic movement in the US and oversees the organization, selection, and training of the country's Olympic athletes and teams. The not-for-profit organization operates six training and education centers around the country where athletes prepare for the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games, and the Pan American Games. The USOC is funded by corporate sponsorships, private contributions, and sales of licensed apparel. It also receives money from the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The USOC was formed in 1978.
