Vanguard Consumer Staples ETF (the Fund) is an exchange-traded share class of Vanguard Consumer Staples Index Fund. The Fund employs a passive management or indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of the MSCI US Investable Market Consumer Staples Index (the Index), an index of stocks of large, medium, and small United States-based companies in the consumer staples sector, as classified under the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS). The GICS includes manufacturers and distributors of food, beverages, and tobacco, as well as producers of nondurable household goods and personal products. It also includes food and drug retailing companies, as well as hypermarkets and consumer supercenters. The Vanguard Group, Inc., through Quantitative Equity Group serves as investment advisor of the Fund.
