In 2009, Julius Baer Holding Ltd decided to separate its private banking and asset management businesses into two independent groups of companies. GAM Holding Ltd acts as the holding company for GAM and Swiss & Global Asset Management. GAM specializes in the active management of long equity, alternative and fixed income investments. Its funds and strategies cover a range of asset classes, currencies and market conditions. Swiss & Global Asset Management offers investment funds, solutions for institutional clients and private labeling services and a network that spans the globe, with more than 1,000 distribution partners in some 20 countries. It emerged from Julius Baer Asset Management in October 2009 and its business includes the management of the Julius Baer branded fund range.
