Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (the Fund) seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the price and yield performance of the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector of the S&P 500 Index (the Index). The Index includes companies from industries, such as media; retail (specialty, multi-line, Internet and catalog); hotels, restaurants and leisure; textiles, apparel and luxury goods; household durables; automobiles, auto components and distributors; leisure equipment and products, and diversified consumer services. The Fund utilizes a passive or indexing investment approach to attempt to approximate the investment performance of the Index. The Fund’s investment advisor is SSgA Funds Management, Inc.
