Crosstex Energy, L.P. is a midstream energy company through its subsidiary, Crosstex Energy Services, L.P. and the subsidiaries of the Operating Partnership is engaged in the gathering, transmission, treating, processing and marketing of natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The Company connects the wells of natural gas producers in its market areas to its gathering systems, treats natural gas to remove impurities, processes natural gas for the removal of NGLs, fractionates NGLs into purity products and markets those products for a fee, transports natural gas and provides it to a variety of markets. It has two segments: Midstream and Treating. The Midstream division focused on gathering, processing, transmission and marketing of natural gas and NGLs. The Treating division focused on the removal of impurities from natural gas. In October 2009, Crosstex Energy, L.P. and Crosstex Energy, Inc. sold its natural gas treating business to Kinder Morgan Energy Partners, L.P.
