Abington Bancorp, Inc. is a stock holding company for Abington Savings Bank (the Bank). The Bank provides automated teller machine (ATM) at all of its banking offices and also has two off-site ATMs. The Bank provides on-line banking and telephone banking services, deposits, and loans and securities. The Bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. The Bank’s principal sources of funds are deposits, repayments of loans and mortgage-backed securities, maturities of investments and interest-bearing deposits, funds provided from operations and funds borrowed from outside sources such as the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB). The funds are primarily used for the origination of various loan types including single-family residential mortgage loans, construction loans, non-residential or commercial real estate mortgage loans, home equity loans, commercial business loans and consumer loans.
