Green Bankshares, Inc. is a bank holding company. The Company owns 100% of the capital stock of GreenBank (the Bank). The primary business of the Company is operating the Bank. The Company’s assets consist primarily of its investment in the Bank and liquid investments. The principal business of the Bank consists of offering deposits, investments in loans, primarily in commercial and residential real estate loans, commercial loans and installment consumer loans. It also offers other financial services through three wholly owned subsidiaries. Through Superior Financial Services, Inc. (Superior Financial), the Bank operates eight consumer finance company offices. Through GCB Acceptance Corporation (GCB Acceptance), the Bank operates a sub-prime automobile lending company. Through Fairway Title Co., the Bank operates a title company. Its subsidiary is Civitas BankGroup, Inc.
