The Lucy Webb Hayes National Training School for Deaconesses and Missionaries, commonly known as Sibley Memorial Hospital, provides medical, surgical, therapeutic, assisted living, and home care services in Washington, DC. Sibley Memorial is a not-for-profit, acute-care community facility with some 320 beds. Sibley Memorial specializes in obstetrics, neurology, and thoracic care, among other medical areas. Lucy Webb Hayes was the wife of Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th president of the United States. Troops commanded by her husband during the Civil War referred to Lucy Webb Hayes as as "Mother Lucy" for her tending of the wounded and dying. Sibley Memorial was acquired by Johns Hopkins Medicine in 2010.
