The Thai Fund, Inc. (the Fund) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund’s investment objective is long-term capital appreciation through investment primarily in equity securities of companies organized under the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Fund makes its investments in Thailand through the Thai Investment Plan. The Fund is the sole unit holder of the Plan. It may invest in unregistered or otherwise restricted securities. It invests in sectors, such as oil, gas and consumable fuels, commercial banks, media, and food and staples retailing. The Fund’s United States investment advisor and administrator is Morgan Stanley Investment Management Inc. Its Thai advisor is MFC Asset Management Public Company Limited. Its sub-advisor is Morgan Stanley Investment Management Company. It invests in the Institutional Class of the Morgan Stanley Institutional Liquidity Money Market Portfolio, an open-end management investment company managed by the advisor.
