Thanks for this software...
But I have this message "can not find iphone at (IP address)"... when
I try to connect the mac intel and the ipod touch...
???

Reset every 4 seconds after restore

I am trying to restore my 1st Gen 8gb iPhone after I (stupidly)
updated to 2.0 then downgraded to 1.1.4. I have selected restore (not
in update mode) and it backs up succesfully, but then when I reboot
and try to use the iPhone, it resets (goes back to the lock screen)
every 4 seconds or so, making the phone completely unusable.... more »

Just wanted to say thanks for making this app available to the
public. It is exactly what someone like myself (who is about to
upgrade to firmware 2.0 and wants to have an escape route!) needs.

Backup of /private/var/mobile/media

Hi all,
I noticed that the folder /private/var/mobile/media is not backuped
during a Standard Backup.
So if you have data (like iPhysics with al lot of levels) dont forget
to backup manually.

Correct Restoring of the Installer plist

First of all: thanks for this excellent tool!
After my first Standard Backup, I deleted the app "TextEdit" by using
the installer/uninstall.
Then I made a Standard Restore with Update Modus "on" and noticed that
"Textedit" was properly restored. But after opening the installer/
uninstall the entry "TextEdit" did not appear anymore. If I leave this... more »

Thanks for your unqualified remarks.
- iBaReS is no open source. So you shouldn't care which language I
write it in.
- The unix statement you mention is no "dumb way to delete the file",
it's preserving the file. Maybe you should have a few lessons in unix
shell script.

My 1.1.4 iPhone needs to be restored and I wanted to back up first
what I had installed on it. I saw and then got with donation IBares
2.2.1. I tried it on PowerBook G4 and got stuck on the first screen -
