The New Cincy Shootout

When we said BIG CHANGES, we meant it!

We are excited to announce that we have moved our tournament location to Cincinnati, Ohio and changed the name to the Cincy Shootout. We took a long look at the recommendations offered by the survey results and realized we had to have a new location to make the kind of changes we wanted to make, college coaches suggested, and event coaches asked for in the survey.

In addition, two of our best venues recently changed ownership and their future as host sites was uncertain. The timing seemed right.

Finally, here is a list of some of the changes we will be able to make as a result of our move:

All wooden courts.

Closer proximity of venues.

Consolation Brackets replacing 3rd and 4th place games.

Lower entry fees.

Also, we have the added benefits of:

Being in the same city as another major event, the "It Takes 5 Classic" - that means even MORE College Coaches in attendance!

Great support from the Cincinnati business and sports communities!

Close integration with the Kentucky HoopFest - we are still the same distance!

We know that moving 100 or so miles will reap huge benefits for all our loyal teams. We want to keep the spirit of the "Hoosier Shootout" alive in the "Cincy Shootout". So stay tuned as we give further updates. For the time being both hoosiershootout.com and
cincyshootout.com will work to reach this website.

Announcement

Our long-time Tournament Director, Mike Bauer is retiring. The entire Hoosier Shootout staff would like to thank Mike for all his efforts since the beginning of our event. Mike maintained a motto of "firm but fair", when dealing with the issues that arose during the course of the event. However, anyone that met Mike knew he was always happy to make a new friend.

Some of the changes we plan to implement next year are on the advice of Mike, and we wish him the very best!

Finally, as a tribute, we are henceforth naming all age-group Hoosier Shootout Championships the Mike Bauer Champion Awards.
