Google, KT, Hyundai and Others Join Sponsors of Upcoming Media Conference in Seoul

Former Hawai'i Gov. George Ariyoshi to be Honored at EWC Dinner July 19

In recognition of his dedication to strengthening the bonds of understanding among the peoples and nations of Asia and the United States - including several terms as chairman of the EWC's Board of Governors - Gov. Ariyoshi will be presented with the Center's Asia Pacific Community Building Award at the 2012 “International Affair” benefit dinner July 19.

Songs of Memory: Music and Ceremony of Highland Southeast Asia


The East-West Center Gallery has opened a new exhibition focusing on the musical traditions of the diverse cultures of the Himalayan foothills where Thailand, Laos and Burma meet. The exhibit features a wide array of musical instruments, traditional dress and jewelry, augmented by rich photographs and video clips of rituals and performances.
