Tod's creative director Lam to leave in September

MILAN — The creative director at Tod's shoemaker, Derek Lam, will leave his post at the luxury Italian brand in September, the company said in a statement released Wednesday.

"Following the rumours of an alleged termination of the collaboration between Tod's and Derek Lam, the company confirms that the agreement between the parties is set to terminate on September 30," it said.

"In the meantime Tod's is in the process of evaluating its options... The choice will be directed toward an individual with great creative talent, able to commit the necessary amount of time to the success of the brand," it added.

San Francisco-born designer Lam joined the brand in 2006.

He graduated from Parsons School of Design in 1990 and launched his own label, debuting at the New York Fashion Week in 2003, before becoming Creative Director for ready-to-wear and accessories at Tod's.
