Israeli fire wounds two Palestinian militants in Gaza

GAZA CITY (AFP) — Israeli army fire wounded two Palestinian militants near Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip late on Saturday, Palestinian medics and security sources said.

They said the Palestinians were preparing to fire rockets at southern Israel when they were hit by Israeli tank fire.

Three Palestinian rockets were fired at Israeli territory earlier without causing casualties or damage, said an Israeli military spokesman, who also confirmed the incident with the two wounded.

Israel has since November 5 tightened its blockade of the Gaza Strip in response to rocket fire at its territory following a deadly raid into the Palestinian territory.
