LOS ANGELES — Ray Allen made 10 of his first 11 shots and finished with 24 points - half of them coming in the third quarter - to lead Boston to an 87-86 NBA victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday.
The defending NBA champion Lakers lost for the first time in five games since Kobe Bryant was sidelined by a sprained left ankle, an injury that again kept him out of action on Thursday.
Kendrick Perkins scored 13 points with 14 assists, Kevin Garnett had 13 points and eight rebounds and Rajon Rondo added 14 points with 11 assists for Boston, who made some moves before the game in time for the league's trade deadline.
The Celtics acquired guard Nate Robinson and Marcus Landry from the New York Knicks in exchange for Eddie House, J.R. Giddens, Bill Walker and a future conditional second-round draft selection.
Spain's Paul Gasol scored 22 points, and Lamar Odom had 13 points and 14 rebounds for the Lakers.
