GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (AFP) — Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre will recover from his bruised right elbow and aggravated shoulder injury suffered against Dallas in time to make a 250th start in a row.
That's what Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Friday in the wake of Favre's injury during the team's 37-27 loss at Dallas on Thursday, suffered when Dallas defender Nate Jones slammed into him 4:49 into the second quarter.
"To quote the medical staff, the streak is not in danger," McCarthy said.
The Packers, who fell to 10-2, next play on December 9 against Oakland, with Favre looking to extend his National Football League record for consecutive starts by a quarterback.
Favre, 38, had said he separated his left shoulder but McCarthy said Favre had only worsened a prior injury from 15 years ago.
