Kaymer, Westwood paired together at Masters

AUGUSTA, Georgia — World No. 1 Martin Kaymer of Germany and second-ranked Lee Westwood of England were paired together for the first and second rounds of the 75th Masters, tournament officials announced Tuesday.

Groupings in the field of 99 at Augusta National Golf Club for the first major championship of 2011 also include a young guns pairing of American Rickie Fowler, Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy and Australian Jason Day.

Kaymer, last year's PGA Championship winner, and Westwood, last year's Masters runner-up still seeking his first major title, will be joined by US standout Matt Kuchar off the first tee at 10:19 a.m. on Thursday.

McIlroy, Day and Fowler will tee off 55 minutes earlier.

Tiger Woods, a 14-time major winner chasing the record 18 career majors won by Jack Nicklaus, will begin the quest for a fifth Masters crown at 10:41 in the morning along with Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell, the reigning US Open champion, and Australian Robert Allenby.

Defending champion Phil Mickelson will be in the penultimate group in Thursday's first round at 1:48 p.m. along with Australian Geoff Ogilvy and US Amateur champion Peter Uihlein.

In the group just ahead of them will be reigning British Open champion Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa, South Korea's K.J. Choi and England's Justin Rose.
