State agencies are the top recipients of federal stimulus cash in Michigan, according to the Recovery Act Web site. Some Michigan-based automakers and universities also are high on the list. A breakdown of the Top 10 as of Sept. 30:
_Michigan Department of Transportation: $566.9 million
_Michigan Department of Education: $508.7 million
_State of Michigan Executive Office: $289.8 million
_Michigan Department of Energy, Labor and Economic Growth: $266.3 million
_Ford Motor Co.: $260.9 million
_Wayne County Intermediate School District: $249.3 million
_General Motors Corp.: $210.8 million
_University of Michigan: $155 million
_Michigan Department of Environmental Quality: $133.8 million
_Michigan Department of Human Services: $107.7 million
Note: Two listings were posted for the city of Detroit, one for $80.3 million and another for $67.5 million. It was not immediately clear if the reports are separate or include some of the same stimulus funding.
