Fantastic service and security  Jill Holliday - Oct 14, 2011 - Report this comment

I've only been a member with ING for not even 2 years now and I absolutely love their website. The customer service is incredible, always speaking to a live person (no automated crap) who won't hang up on me until I'm 100% satisfied and have no more questions. I also love how I can open up to 25 different Savings accounts (with NO Fees)!! I recently opened 3 accounts for my neices and godson, to start saving for their future. If it's tough now, it's probably going to be even tougher for their futures. So thanks ING for making Saving $$ easy and totally worth it!!

No Surprises   - David Robinette - Aug 25, 2011 - Report this comment

I've had an ING account almost 10 years. They do what they advertise. No gimmicks, come-ons, no steering you into inappropriate financial products. Very open and straightforward. I have no complaints. I view ING as one of those companies you can 'trust' - if you know what I mean. Consistent & dependable. I am not enthusiastic about the acquisition by Capital One.

So far so good!   - Susan Koecher - Jul 8, 2011 - Report this comment

I became a member in June 2011. Very happy so far! I'm also one of those people who aren't a fan of Capital One or other banks in general. But (to date) I like what I've received from ING Direct and hope they keep up the good work of pleasing their customers.

Nice savings ideas  Jeannette Sieland - Feb 5, 2011 - Report this comment

Just opened an account for my "old age". Have put this off for about 5 years now but glad I've finally taken the step. Years ago I opened an account for my then 4 year old son. Used it to put any monies he got for birthdays & Christmases. After 2 years of saving, he got a notice that the bank was gonna charge him a $25 monthly fee because his account balance was below $500. How can a parent get kids to save if they're gonna be punished for trying? Glad ING doesn't do that. When son gets a steady auto mechanics job I'm gonna recommend he start saving with ING. It's SO easy! Can't wait to get some "easy to follow tips" from them.

Great   Catherine Cabán - Oct 25, 2010 - Report this comment

I have been with ING since 2002. I love that I can have different accounts and name them e.g. vacation, clothes..... They are insured. they have more passwords for me to get to my account than fort knox. I love them because they are always teaching me ways to save money and for children to save. i even went to a free event to learn about investing. not all of banks do that

Been a Saver since 2008. Definately the best bank I have ever banked with. Customer Service is A+ and it's only going to get better. The saving account rate isnt that high right now, but in combination with everything else I'll be keeping them. Oh and they are FDIC. Why would anyone use them if they werent? lol

They ARE insured by the FDIC...  Anonymous - Sep 10, 2009 - Report this comment

This is directly from ING's website... Are deposits at ING DIRECT insured by the FDIC? ING DIRECT is a federally chartered bank insured by the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation). We are registered with the FDIC under the name of ING Bank, fsb, located in Wilmington, DE. ING DIRECT's FDIC certificate number is 35489. Currently, deposits are insured by the FDIC for up to $250,000 per depositor (the amount is scheduled to return to $100,000 effective January 1, 2014). A single account is insured up to $250,000. Joint accounts are insured up to $250,000 for each individual on the account, equaling $500,000 in total. See example An individual with multiple accounts can be insured up to a total of $500,000. So for example, if you have a single account as well as a joint account, you’ll be insured up to $250,000 for the single account and up to $250,000 per depositor on the joint account. See example IRA deposits at ING DIRECT are FDIC insured up to $250,000 per plan depositor. This includes all IRA Savings accounts and CDs combined within each Traditional and Roth Plan and is in addition to the $250,000 non-IRA FDIC insurance. See example
