i dont thnk my day would be the same w/o my regular read of Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin is so original, and Hobbes is the awsome commentary on life that everyone wishd they had!!
Suggestion first: At the bottom of the gadget there is a box with text that says, "Click on the "people" icon above to enable social settings." Once I've made a choice and chosen NOT to share anything in the social settings, couldn't this text disappear? It takes up some screen real estate that pushes data from another gadget down. The two buttons are rather large, but if I could get rid of the text I can live with that. The good stuff now: I HAVE to have my comics each day and this is my fix. Thanks.
Dear Anonymous, Yes it worked for me also. However something has gone awry with my Homepage I've checked the box to remain logged in. Yet every time I log on now for the last week I've had to Log on with a password the gadgat no longer works for me either.
My GoComic gadget will not respond when I click on 'full size" or forward/back. Not having any trouble with any other gadgets. Anyone know how to wake it up?
Works fine for me on two computers. You can edit your own list of comics to read from a long list, and I've had no trouble with it remembering "my" list. Best of all, it resizes to full page so I can actually READ the comics and go from one to another without resizing or moving them.
i was looking for one of my fave comic strips "peanuts" but they don't have it! I even checked on the regular site and they didn't have it! They need to add more comics!
Lo and Behold! It works now. I have a feeling that it had to do with certain video cards. I have an ATI Radeon 2600 that is notorious for having a problem with OpenGL. This is just speculation, but I think that may be why the comics were down on one computer but worked fine on the others that I have used today. Go figure.
It is not working on one of my computers, but the one right next to it is fine. The one at the office today was fine as well. What do we have in common? I am on Windows XP pro with latest Firefox on both machines. Also running ZoneAlarm Extreme Security on both. Strangely, the anti-virus/anti-spyware adjustment panel does not come up on the one that works.
Mine is also dead. Happened yesterday. And Barbara, if you click on the toon it'll take you to a new page. You should see a list on the right of the comics you have chosen. At the top there should be an "edit" link. Unclick the one you don't want and it shouldn't appear anymore. Sorry for the late reply. Hope it still helps.
this gadget stopped working. None of my comics show up. Windows IE.
Stopped working in other browsersAnonymous - Sep 23, 2009 - Report this comment
It hasn't worked in Internet Explorer the past two days, either. I just checked Firefox and it's not working there. I was looking for a "report problem" option, but it looks like commenting is as good as it gets.
I hope the reason this gadget is not working today is because it's new and has a bug. None of the toons are there today, the first day for the new share with friends mess. Wish Google would test these things more before releasing them.
I don't happen to like the comic that is shown for this gadget on my home page and can't figure out how to not have it appear. I have not chosen as one of my comics and I really don't want to see it every day. Anyone have any ideas. Support didn't understand the question I guess 'cause the answer wasn't helpful.
Would be pretty cool if it had some better choices - Anonymous - Sep 15, 2009 - Report this comment
I would love to see comics like xkcd or dilbert in the list. I'm not a huge fan of any of the others except for Foxtrot.
I recently deleted this plug in after using it for months because they modified the code to default to the first comic alphabetically in the list EVERY time my Google page is refreshed. It used to cache the last comic that I had viewed, so I could leave it on my favorite and read it every day. The image is also too small to read without going to the full page, but I don't blame them for that as Google limits the size of the plug in box.
Images way too small, some bugs - Anonymous - Sep 4, 2009 - Report this comment
Useless without the full page view --please increase size of pictures. Bug when selecting new comics(a-z list) --seems it may be dependent on the ad displayed inside the list --not all entries are viewable. The UI is nonsensical (full screen). Bug in small mode where unknown text is partially viewable below comic.
