I can't get rid of the "live planet" theme now Does anyone know how to do this.

It no longer works because it's an inline gadget. Also, I can't get rid of the "Chat/Home" waste of space anymore, not even with the /ig?gl=all addition to my url.

Now Google has just removed another option I liked about having a google home page. They make so many changes that are not worth using Google as a home page. I was one that liked the theme manager gadget. This sucks!!!!!
I added gadgets to my homepage this morning and now all I get is an error report. I can't get the page to to display to get rid of the gadgets I added. The page is useless. It just closes on its own. What the heck is going on and who is working on this to fix it?
Apparently it doesn't do any good to comment, but maybe I can vent. I cannot change my theme......it's SO frustrating!!!
Google won't allow errors to be fixedSterling Udell - Dec 20, 2008 - Report this comment
I appreciate the error reports, but I'm afraid there's nothing I can do about them - Google has frozen the development of this gadget (and all other inline gadgets as well). For more info see http://igoogledeveloper.blogspot.com/2008/08/changes-to-inlined-gadgets.html. Sorry, everyone!
I've been using this gadget for a couple weeks now and have been getting an error about 70-80% of the time. The page - www.google.com/?skin=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.inshanelife.com%2Figoogle_theme.xml - does not exist. The url in the setting is http://www.inshanelife.com/igoogle_theme.xml and it does exist because if I keep refreshing or close browser (IE7) and reopen it will work sometimes.

Tracy, where do you find preferences and content? I have the same problem as you mentioned and would like to fix it. Thanks!

I figured out how to use a theme page and get it to show. Hope this helps some of you. Under preferences and under content, check the box, then to fonts and colors, hit the color button. Make sure the ALLOW PAGES TO CHOOSE THEIR OWN COLORS is checked. It solved the problem of a blank start page even though I had picked a theme!!!

I'm having all of the issues mentioned here. have tried to remove the manager and it won't go. I planned on adding it once my theme was changed, but can't do that either. Seems I'm locked all around. I REALLY don't want to have to restore my account to default and start over.
I just had my homepage revert back to a very old page! I have been reading the posts so I thought I would chime in to Google. What is the fix and what is the problem? It sounds to me like if it was a problem a year ago it should not still be an issue. Google, please advise.
Please fix whatever is wrong with this. I can't add, delete, or change anything on any tabs. Two of my tabs keep refreshing and won't open at all. Deleting the manager on each tab and reinstalling has worked in the past, but gets very old. Now I can't even delete it, just keeps reverting back
Problems today. fixed by removing and adding againBen McWhinnie - Apr 30, 2008 - Report this comment
I've been using this gadget for a while with no problem, until today. When opening the iGoogle page, it seemed like the whole page was refreshing constantly with the note appearing now and again saying the theme had changed (although it hadn't) To solve the problem, i removed the gadget then added it again. I had to also revert back to no theme, and delete the current theme as it appeared on the list but did not load. Now i can use it again as before, but i've lost the list of theme... ah well.
Is the theme manager holding me hostage? I have tried several times to change my theme for two of my tabs, with no success. I first went to the choose theme option at the far right of the tabs, next I tried edit this tab option, next I tried through the theme manager and last I went to account settings. I tried all 4 methods several times and no success. I even tried, on one of the tabs to delete the theme from the theme manager, which the 2 themes in question are no longer listed in the manager, but the theme is the same! I then deleted the theme manager from the page, or tab and still nothing. As a last resort, I tried to delete the tab entirely and start fresh....still there. Is the theme manager in some way locking me in? I have it installed on other tabs, the themes I am trying to change are not listed on any. Also, the pages with the locked themes won't accept new gadgets, or keep deleted gadgets deleted, it's like the entire system is stuck. ?????
I've only had this gadget for a couple of months. I got it so I could turn off caching to fix problems with dynamic themes like Earth-Light and Live Planet. All was fine until a couple of days ago when these selected themes no longer showed up on my iGoogle page. I've discovered that they will re-appear if I select caching again. Anyone else experiencing this?

No, you didn't change anything - Google did. I'm updating this gadget to deal with it; you should get the new version automatically.

Adding this app back, even though it doesn't work, actually allowed my chosen theme to show up instead of the Earth-Light one. Anyone try that?
